History

On January 1, 1947, Kathryn Carter ("K.C.") Soll was born to parents Norma and Lewis Carter, who resided in the Palisades Riviera on Spoleto Drive.

A second-generation realtor, following her mother, Norma, K.C. was first licensed to sell real estate in 1972. She obtained her broker's license in both California and Washington State in l979.

K.C. started her real estate career in Malibu selling beachfront homes and mountain retreats. Over the years, she has sold homes and estates in Beverly Hills, Bel-Air, Westwood, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, and Santa Monica. However, her love of architecture and history has drawn her again and again to the estate properties of the Palisades Riviera. For example:

"In 1991, I listed a home on Amalfi Drive designed by the firm of Paul Williams F.A.I.A. in 1941. The home had been built for Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lake ("Dagwood") and reputedly paid for by Marion Davies, a gift to her niece. Years after the sale closed, it was announced that 'Mrs. Arthur Lake' was indeed the daughter of Marion Davies and William Randolph Hearst."

To a movie buff, the past and present of this area (Palisades, Brentwood, Santa Monica) reads like a Who's Who of the entertainment industry.
