Sullivan Canyon, Will Rogers State Park and Rivas Canyon

Sullivan Canyon
A sylvan equestrian-oriented community in Brentwood, California, Sullivan Canyon lies just east of (and adjacent to) the Palisades Riviera.  Areas of lower Mandeville are also zoned for on-site horses.

Residents, young and old, ride their horses to the "ring" for exercise, training, or relaxation.
Architectural designer Cliff May developed the area in the 40’s and 50’s. The Cliff May ranch-house style had high, pitched, and beamed ceilings, walls of glass, and hydronic radiant heat in the tile over concrete-slab floors.

The range of housing values is approximately $3.2Mil to $15Million.

Will Rogers State Historic Park

As mentioned in the Rustic Canyon section, Will Rogers family homestead and acreage was donated to the State of California in the 1940's.  Polo is played on Saturdays 2 p.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. (beginning in May).

The recently renovated Rogers Family Home is open for guided tours.

State historic parks preserve places and objects of statewide historic significance. Before Sunset Boulevard reaches the ocean you can find the home of one of America's most beloved humorists, Will Rogers. In what is now the town of Pacific Palisades, Rogers built his ranch, where he lived with his wife Betty and their three children, Will, Jr., Mary, and James. The 31-room ranch house, which includes 11 baths and seven fireplaces, is surrounded by a stable, corrals, riding ring, roping arena, golf course, polo field - and riding and hiking trails that give visitors spectacular views of the ranch and the surrounding countryside - 186 acres. The ranch became a State Park in 1944 after the death of Mrs. Rogers.
